Animation is perhaps the world’s fastest growing creative career with a great presence in the feature film, gaming, special effects, interactive and TV commercial industries. Multi-disciplinary artists and designers are also increasingly using animations to create new artistic forms and works. Educationists too are increasingly relying on animation-powered pedagogical tools.

Why should I consider an Advanced Diploma in Animation and Visual Effects at Srishti?

With the spate of animated films currently hitting the international markets, and interest in the medium at an all-time high, the scope for involvement in animation as a career is very promising. But animation does not only mean using a program in 2D or 3D or even streaming a series of drawings. The need of today is for content writing, storyboarding and film direction. Srishti’s Professional Diploma Program includes these disciplines in its curriculum with rigorous training in the finer aspects of film production.

While offering a sophisticated, multi–disciplinary environment, the course is a comprehensive animation learning experience that fosters exploration, experimentation and innovative conceptualization. With individual attention, students are given the opportunity to develop holistic proficiencies, through interdepartmental experience, that strengthen and round off their personalities.

What is my future with this Diploma?

In response to industry needs, the program places great emphasis on creativity supported by solid technique and production values. Graduates would be able to make a choice in terms of career opportunities in the industry as directors, visual effects supervisors and script writers. They could also take the option of starting up an independent studio. Internships also expose students to a practical interaction with the industry, thereby giving students a strong idea of their strengths, interests and specializations.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must be motivated, self-directed and focused.
• Candidates should have an interest in working collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary setting.
• Students who have completed an Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Animation, and wish to perfect their skills in screenplay writing and animation film direction.
• In lieu of an Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Animation, prior skill-sets and 2 years of professional work experience in the digital/computing arena and graphic arts are an advantage.
• There is no age requirement for entry into the program.

Eligibility and Application Procedure
The requirements for applying to the program are an application form with personal statements and a portfolio of work to be sent in on CD/DVD. Candidates will be invited for a personal interview to determine their eligibility.

Download and fill in the PDP application form and the reference form. The referencer should have taught you or been an employer or an institution that has trained and certified you for 2 years or more, and cannot be a relative.
